We are looking for an experienced Buyer to join our Fremont facility, specializing in Acousto-Optics (AO) for A&D, Industrial and Life Sciences. You will be responsible for determining requirements and procuring materials that support both engineering and production schedules. Responsibilities include assigned commodities, suppliers and/or material and parts, ensuring requirements are met through on-time delivery of quality materials, reduction of lead time and total cost, supply chain control and maintaining inventory at planned levels.

KEY ACTIVIES

Determines material requirements from engineering and production schedules as well as MRP and MPS output to meet cost targets

Manage RFI & RFQ turn-around time per target set, and comparison with PPV saving excel summary.

Vendor negotiation T&Cs and to reduce overall cost and achieve targeted yearly Purchase Price Variance (PPV)

PO issue, schedule, and monitors supplier On-Time deliveries

Processes and manages RMA for defective materials, components, or equipment

Monitors and maintains inventory at planned levels, while working to minimize excess and obsolete materials

Monitors cost, reschedule in and out per MRP need, and scope of assigned suppliers

Resolve 3 ways matching with suppliers, warehousing, and accounting for On- Time Payment.

Develops specifications for new contracts and purchase orders.

Increase and speed up RFQ, FA qualifications, and Project Transfer to LCR (Low Cost Region) toward to cost saving target

Other activities or projects assign from management and able to be flexible on off-hours call due to business cross continent/international in different time zone

Working to comply with company Health, Safety and Environmental requirements

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Experience in manufacturing environment essential

Knowledge and experience of working with MRP

Technical experience preferable

Understanding of quality requirements in A&D, Industrial and Life Sciences

Understanding of contracts and contract management

Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office/Excel applications

Project management skills

Excellent problem-solving skills

Strong organisational skills
